THE HENRY FORD'S FORMULA

 "The Man said, “Finally! Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh! Name her Woman for she was made from Man.” Therefore a man leaves his father and mother and embraces his wife. They become one flesh. The two of them, the Man and his Wife, were naked, but they felt no shame." Genesis 2:23-25 (MSG)

When Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ford celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, a reporter asked them, “To what do you attribute your fifty years of successful married life?”  “The formula,” said Mr. Ford, “is the same formula I have always used in making cars, just stick to one model.” - (Walking Through Your Bible, H.M.S. Richards)

The Henry Ford's formula for lasting marriage and prosperous car making business re-echoes God's blueprint for a successful marriage. Marriage is a covenant fusion of a man and a woman in a life long, inseparable relationship. When the first man (Adam) wooed his wife (Eve) in the garden of Eden, he made a commitment to cleave to her for the rest of his life. He never entered into the relationship with a spare tyre mentality. He knew that there was no provision for spare tyres and collocation tools in God's budget for marriage at the beginning. Adam understood that divorcing one model and remarrying another model for any reason is also not an option in God's original plan for man (Matthew 19:8). In fact, God categorically says He detests such unwholesome practice (Malachi 2:16).

"Jesus said, “Moses provided for divorce as a concession to your hard heartedness, but it is not part of God’s original plan. I’m holding you to the original plan, and holding you liable for adultery if you divorce your faithful wife and then marry someone else...”Matthew 19:8‭-‬9 (MSG)

Friends, you cannot claim to be wiser than the one who instituted marriage in the beginning (Genesis 2:18). Switching from one model to another is a serious breach of divine protocol and you need to repent and restitute your ways today. Is your marriage going through a stormy sea and you are already thinking of changing course? Is your marital wine running low? Is it  hard for you to stay with your only model? Then, please surrender your life to Jesus and invite Him into your home today.  The Saviour who intervened in the first marriage at Cana will turn your water to the sweetest wine in town (John 2:1-11). 

Beloved, there is no better model elsewhere. The best model is the one in your wedding pictures, even if it has not been looking like it recently. Please reaffirm your commitment to your model today and ask God to keep your heart contented, committed to a lifetime of not just living but loving each other well. The secret of a successful marriage is accepting your model as he or she is and prayerfully turning the individual to the best model in the world. This timeless truth below captures the secret for lasting marriage.

Please trust God to release His blessing upon your union today as you meditate on the lyrics of this wonderful hymn. Are you unmarried? Please trust God to preside over your marriage and make it heaven on earth.

My prayer for everyone going through marital storm all over the world, is that the originator of marriage himself will visit their homes today. He will turn their tears to laughter and brew sweet wine from the six waterpots around  them before this year is over. His perfect will and plan for those marriages shall come to pass even as every absconded husband and wife retrace their steps back to their original model in Jesus name. 

Happy wedding anniversary to me and my only Gorgeous Super Model (GSM). I am eternally grateful to God for the gift of you. I love you and will always do till Christ returns.
