YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOW
"If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will harvest what you plant." Galatians 6:7 (ERV)
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SOW
Be careful what you sow,
For seed will surely grow;
The dew will fall,
The rain will splash,
The clouds grow dark,
The sunshine flash,
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow;
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow.
Refrain:
Be careful what you sow,
For seed will surely grow,
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap with joy tomorrow.
Be careful what you sow,
For seed will surely grow;
Where it may fall,
You cannot know,
In sun or shade
‘Twill surely grow,
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow;
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow.
Be careful what you sow,
The weed you plant will grow;
The scattered seed
From thoughtless hand,
Must gather be,
By God’s command,
And he who sows wild oats today,
Must reap the crop tomorrow;
And he who sows wild oats today,
Must reap the crop tomorrow.
Then let us sow good deeds,
And not the briars and weeds;
Then harvest time
Its joys shall bring,
And when we reap,
Our hearts shall sing,
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow;
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow.
Good day and God bless you.

"If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will harvest what you plant." Galatians 6:7 (ERV)
There is a story of a farmer who became so old that he couldn’t go to the farm anymore. So he would spend the day just sitting on the porch. His son became furious and said that the old man is of no use anymore since he doesn’t do anything. One day the son got so angry that he built a wooden coffin, dragged it over to the porch, and told his father to get in. Without saying anything, the father climbed inside. After closing the lid, the son dragged the coffin to the edge of the farm where there was a high cliff. As he approached the drop, he heard a light tapping on the lid from inside the coffin. He opened it up. Still lying there peacefully, the father looked up at his son. “I know you are going to throw me over the cliff, but before you do, may I suggest something?” “What is it?” replied the son. “Throw me over the cliff, if you like,” said the father, “but save this good wooden coffin. Your children might need to use it."
The Bible recorded many examples of people who reaped the harvest of wicked seed they planted in the field of others. For example, in 2 Samuel 11: 2-4, David secretly sowed the seed of wickedness in the field of Uriah. Unknown to David, that evil seed he planted survived, grew and became a mighty terrible tree of shame and disgrace ready for harvesting. And several years later, Absalom, David's son obeyed the law of harvest by climbing the rooftop to pluck the ripe fruit of shame and disgrace for his father in the presence of the whole nation of Israel ( 2 Samuel 16:22). The video of that shameful rooftop palaver of king David was reproduced and published by Absalom years later. Absalom was the lead actor in the script that his father wrote secretly on the rooftop years back. Friends, be careful of what you do to others because the law of harvest will never fail.
"Life is an echo. What you send out, comes back. What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others, exists in you"- Zig Ziglar.
Unfortunately, many people have not come to terms with the fact that whatsoever a man sows he will definitely reap now or later in life (Galatians 6:7). So, many people have built some terrible and wicked wooden coffins for their friends, parents, colleagues, neighbours when they ought to sow good seeds of care, love, respect, support, etc in their lives. Many of our parents, colleagues, friends and family members have become objects of ridicule and embarrassment today because we decided to throw them off from the cliff. Many children are enjoying in the city or abroad, while their parents are sick or living from hands to mouth in the village. What a terrible seed are we sowing!
Beloved, I hope you are not dragging or have dragged your parents in the wooden coffin of disrespect and neglect like the young man in the above story. I hope you have not pushed any of your friends, colleagues, and neighbours off the cliff like Uriah. If you have, then you must repent today otherwise you may end up reaping the fruits of those wicked acts of yours. Your children may eventually order you too to enter that same coffin you pushed your parents into, whatever that is. Your Haman may finally be hanged on that wicked gallop that you built for Mordecai. Your Absalom may defile your wife on the rooftop. Yes, that is the truth! Anyone who plants vegetable but expects a harvest of grapes must be a very big fool. I sincerely hope that is not you. The law of harvest is true - you reap what you sow. There is a payback period for every action under the sun. I, therefore, urge you to destroy those wicked wooden coffins you built for others today and henceforth resolve to sow the seed of care, love, respect, and honour into the lives of others so that you can also harvest honour, respect, care as well as long life. A word is enough for the wise.
In 1889, God inspired Daniel W. Whittle to compose this wonderful hymn below which summarises the subject matter. The title of the hymn is "Be Careful What You Sow." Please, let us reflect on the lyrics of this beautiful hymn together as we trust God to help us live every day to sow only seed of good deeds until His kingdom come.
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SOW
Be careful what you sow,
For seed will surely grow;
The dew will fall,
The rain will splash,
The clouds grow dark,
The sunshine flash,
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow;
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow.
Refrain:
Be careful what you sow,
For seed will surely grow,
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap with joy tomorrow.
Be careful what you sow,
For seed will surely grow;
Where it may fall,
You cannot know,
In sun or shade
‘Twill surely grow,
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow;
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow.
Be careful what you sow,
The weed you plant will grow;
The scattered seed
From thoughtless hand,
Must gather be,
By God’s command,
And he who sows wild oats today,
Must reap the crop tomorrow;
And he who sows wild oats today,
Must reap the crop tomorrow.
Then let us sow good deeds,
And not the briars and weeds;
Then harvest time
Its joys shall bring,
And when we reap,
Our hearts shall sing,
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow;
And he who sows a good seed today,
Shall reap good seed tomorrow.
Beloved, do you want to harvest Glory this year? Then, join us in this 49days of fasting and prayers to sow seeds of divine insurance and mercy for our families, our nations, and the church. As the lord liveth, before this year is over, you shall reap a bountiful harvest of Glory, joy, peace, victory, promotion, deliverance, and healing in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Good day and God bless you.
Maranatha!
