"The angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, the one who was killed on the cross. But he is not here. He has risen from death, as he said he would. Come and see the place where his body was"- Matthew 28:5-6 (ERV)
A cemetery is a place where the remains of dead people are buried or interred. The emotional atmosphere at the cemetery is usually very tensed as people grieve for the passing of their loved ones. The waves of emotions at the cemetery often ranges from profound sadness, emptiness, and despair to shock, confusion, numbness, guilt, or regret. The cemetery is simply a place synonymous with sorrow and bad news.
However, the best news the world has ever had came from a certain cemetery in Jerusalem over 2000 years ago. On that glorious Easter morning, Mary Magdalene and some other women went to the cemetery where Christ was interred with spices. On arrival, they discovered that Christ had risen and His tomb was empty. What a good news! They left the cemetery with great joy to disseminate the news to the disciples who were still mourning their Master (Matthew 28:8).
The good news turned the sorrow of the disciples to great joy but some found it very hard to believe it (Luke 24:11). They couldn't imagine how such good news can come from a strange place like cemetery. How can God turn a cemetery to the headquarters of Jerusalem's Good News Broadcasting Station? The news was simply too good to be true. It is unbelievable and unthinkable!
"And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not" (Luke 24:11)
Friends, may I assure you that the good news of Christ's resurrection is absolutely true and it is obviously the best news in the history of man. The news reaffirms believers' victory over judgment and death. It also validates our redemptive testimony in Christ.
Beloved, the tomb is empty! The price for man's redemption has been paid. Christ has risen and ascended up to heaven. But the question now is, "Are you enjoying the benefits of His resurrection or are you still languishing in the tomb of sin and judgment?" Why not connect yourself to the finished work of grace that was perfected on that glorious Easter morning over 2000 years ago? Please surrender your life to Jesus Christ and begin to take delivery of all the amazing freebies offered to man as Easter bonus.
One very powerful song that reiterates the good news from Jerusalem's Good News Cemetery Broadcasting Station is titled "COME AND SEE, THE TOMB IS EMPTY". As you meditate on the lyrics of this wonderful song, please trust God for grace to see more evidences of the finished work of grace in your life everyday till you see Christ in glory.
COME AND SEE, THE TOMB IS EMPTY (Unknown)
When I came to see the Master, someone rolled away the stone
I saw the tomb was empty and my precious Lord was gone
The angel said why are you looking for Jesus here today
He's not here, He has risen. Come and see where He lay
Chorus:
Come and see the tomb is empty
Come and see where He laid
Death could not hold Him, He has risen from the grave
Now He lives and reigns forever and He's coming back someday
Come and see the tomb is empty, come and see where He laid.
When I heard that He had risen, I doubted in my mind
So I ran into the tomb to see what I could find
The angel said why are you seeking the living among the dead
He’s not here, He has risen tell the others what I’ve said
As you celebrate Easter this year, may God send good news to your household from places that you could never imagine. May God turn every cemetery around your family to Good News Broadcasting Station. More importantly, may God use you to rescue others as you prayerfully disseminate the good news of resurrection in Jesus name, Amen.
Good day and do have a glorious Easter celebration.
Maranatha!
