"And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me" Isaiah 6:8 (ASV)
Once there was a great forest fire. All the animals fled to the edge of the forest and froze in fear not knowing what to do. They watched as the flames began destroying the beauty of their home. Finally, a tiny hummingbird flew to a body of water and took a few drops into its beak. It then flew quickly towards the fire allowing the drops to fall on the raging flames. Over and over the tiny bird continued. Drop by drop. Back and forth. Again and again, The other animals watched from the edge of the forest, and called to the little bird, "What are you doing?" The hummingbird replied, "I am doing what I can."
There is a raging inferno that is causing serious havoc all over the world today. The source of that fire was man's blatant disobedience to divine agenda (Romans 5:19). This inferno is sending many precious souls to hell daily but we don't seem to be concerned. God is raising His end-time rescue team but we have refused to play our part in the rescue operation. This is quite unfortunate!
In Isaiah 6:8, when the inferno was escalated to heaven, God placed an advert in the newspapers for the recruitment of firefighters. He wanted to engage many hummingbirds that will fetch water of life and drop it into the heart of every hell-bound soul on earth. People who will be so concerned about the eternal destination of man. People who will fast and pray for God to rescue sinners from the raging fire of hell.
Friends, heaven is still recruiting end-time firefighters in this generation. God is looking for a group of hummingbirds who will always do what they can to save souls from hell. Those who will not fold their hands and watch fire consume those precious souls that Christ came to die for. God is looking for men and women who will be working while others are idle in the kingdom. God is searching for many hummingbirds who will continue to fetch water when others are complaining and grumbling. People who will not wait until they can speak Queen's English before witnessing to unbelievers. Those who trust God to use the little tracts in their hands to win souls into His kingdom. Men and women who will not wait until they have huge bank accounts before being a blessing to the needy. Those who will not be disturbed by what others are saying, but will keep doing what they can do to rescue hell-bound souls around them.
Beloved, are you ready to join the divine firefighters of God on earth today? Enough of that jamboree Christianity you have been practicing. The greatest service you can render to God is to preach the Gospel and rescue hell-bound souls for Him. If you are ready, the lyrics of this powerful hymn below should be your prayer points till you see Christ in glory:
I HEARD THE VOICE OF THE LORD
I heard the voice of the Lord
Saying, Whom shall I send?
I heard the voice of the Lord
Saying, Who will go for us?
And I said, I’m here, send me, Lord.
I pour out the cost of my life;
My future is vain—my destiny’s Christ;
Christ is everything! The people who know their God
Will rise up and show strength!
People who thus know their God
Will take action and move!
We will spread You, Lord, through the earth.
Lord, make us faithful to the end,
Our life and our all be utterly spent,
Spent for the church.
Who’ll bring Your kingdom to come?
These whose hearts are burned with fire.
Who will fight the spiritual war?
They descend as mighty ones!
O Lord Jesus, capture our hearts;
Lord make Your desire our desire!
Your worth’s nothing less than all of our life!
Our life’s to bring You back!
May God capture our hearts and set them on fire like the Apostles of old so we can become His faithful witnesses everywhere we find ourselves on earth. May His desire become our desire and His business become our business till He returns to take us home.
Good day and God bless you.
Maranatha!
