I won’t speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this dark world is coming. But he has no power over me, for he has nothing to use against me - John 14:30 (TPT)
The story is told of a man who sold his house for an incredible bargain with just one stipulation: he would retain ownership of one small nail protruding over the door. After several years, he wanted the house back, but the new owner was unwilling to sell it. So the first owner went out, found the carcass of a dead dog, and hung it from the single nail he still owned. Soon the house became unlivable and the new owner was forced to sell the house to the owner of the nail.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary, the ultimate price for the recovery of the great possession that man lost in the Garden of Eden was paid for (1 Corin 6:19-20). The transaction was consummated with an incredible price and the devil thought he had struck a good deal. The old owner (devil) was super excited about the deal that he gladly vacated his abode for the new owner (God) to move in. While the old owner was still basking in the euphoria of the amazing bargain, he suddenly realized that the deal was a very bad one (1 Corin 2:8). Then, he began to think of how best to recover his lost grounds and territories without much efforts. Several options were considered but he decided to exploit the Remnant Strategy that Jesus described in John 14:30.
The remnant strategy is one of the most potent approach that the devil (old owner) uses to take possession of his lost grounds in every generation. For example, Moses was captured because he refused to get rid of the nail of anger that the old owner left behind in him and he paid dearly for it. Judas Iscariot and Gehazi became candidates of hell because they never paid attention to the nail of greed hung around their necks and they ended up in the gallow of shame. Samson died prematurely because he refused to deal with the nail of lust cleverly packed inside his highly anointed frame by the old owner.
Beloved, we thank God for the salvation of your soul but are you sure there are still no little nails somewhere that the old owner can use to harvest your soul into hell? Are there remnants of bitterness, lies, anger, pride, greed, unforgiveness, stubbornness, lust or immorality that the old owner can use to hang carcasses of dead dogs in your life? Can you boldly say like Jesus Christ that there is no remnant of the old owner in you? A little sin, like a little leaven, can corrupt the whole lump (1 Corin 5:6-7). What are those little leavens of the old owner in you? Please stop pretending as if those little things does not matter. But if you decide to leave only one small sin in your life, Satan will hang his rotten garbage on it to make your life unlivable. Therefore, please prayerfully confront and eliminate every remnant/sin in your lives before they grow and dismantle your life and destiny. The best way to eliminate those little nails is by constantly praying for sanctification so that God can remove every little nail that the old owner can use to hinder you from making it to Heaven.
The lyrics of this powerful hymn below should be our watchword:
NOTHING BETWEEN By C. A. Tindley (1905)
1 Nothing between my soul and the Savior,
naught of this world's delusive dream;
I have renounced all sinful pleasure;
Jesus is mine, there's nothing between.
Refrain:
Nothing between my soul and the Savior,
so that His blessed face may be seen;
nothing preventing the least of His favor;
keep the way clear! Let nothing between.
2 Nothing between, like worldly pleasure;
habits of life, though harmless they seem,
must not my heart from Him ever sever;
He is my all, there's nothing between.
3 Nothing between, like pride or station;
self, or friends shall not intervene;
though it may cost me much tribulation,
I am resolved, there's nothing between.
4 Nothing between, e'en many hard trials,
though the whole world against me convene;
watching with prayer and much self denial,
triumph at last, there's nothing between.
May we receive grace to prayerfully confront every remnant that is capable of disqualifying us from finishing our race on earth well in Jesus name.
Good day & God bless you.
Maranatha!
