"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own
doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast"
- Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)
On the main entrance of the Nazi Concentration Camp in Auschwitz, Poland was a
statement - "Arbeit Macht Frei". The statement which is being
interpreted as “Work Sets You Free” assures people that if they worked hard,
they would be set free. This promise of freedom was however a deception as
about 1.1 million people were massacred in that camp during the second world
war.
The modern day Nazi German soldiers are still preaching the sermon of
"Arbeit Macht Frei" all over the world. They are still luring
millions of people into eternal damnation through their deceptive ideology of
"Work Sets You Free" as they did during the second world war. It is
obvious there are many people in their concentration camp all over the world
today. They believe that they can truly be ushered into Heaven on the basis of
their good works. They seem not to understand that only faith in Jesus Christ
for salvation can set them free (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 8:36). It is only Jesus
Christ’s blood that liberates. He died to give us freedom from the penalty of
our sins (Hebrews 9:28)
Beloved, please don't ever believe the "Work Sets You Free" sermon of
those modern day Nazi German soldiers around you. Salvation can never be earned
on the basis of good works. It can only be received through relationship with
God's only begotten son - Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12)
"Jesus is the only one who can save people. His name is the only power in
the world that has been given to save anyone. We must be saved through him!”
Acts 4:12 (ERV)
One special hymn that re-echoes the message of God's grace that brings true
freedom to man is titled "By Grace I'm Saved". Have you embraced the
grace that bring Salvation to man (Titus 2:11)? If yes, then I say "a big
congratulations" to you. But if not, I urge you to please cry unto God for
mercy now. I can assure you that you will never regret you did.
BY GRACE I'M SAVED By Justin H. Knecht (1752 - 1817)
By grace I'm saved, grace free and boundless;
my soul, believe and doubt it not.
Why stagger at this word of promise?
Has Scripture ever falsehood taught?
No; then this word must true remain:
by grace you too shall heav'n obtain.
By grace! None dare lay claim to merit;
our works and conduct have no worth.
God in his love sent our Redeemer,
Christ Jesus, to this sinful earth;
his death did for our sins atone,
and we are saved by grace alone.
By grace God's Son, our only Savior,
came down to earth to bear our sin.
Was it because of your own merit
that Jesus died your soul to win?
No, it was grace, and grace alone,
that brought him from his heav'nly throne.
By grace! O mark this word of promise
when you are by your sins oppressed,
when Satan plagues your troubled conscience,
and when your heart is seeking rest.
What reason cannot comprehend
God by his grace to you will send.
By grace to timid hearts that tremble,
in tribulation's furnace tried,
by grace, in spite of fear and trouble,
the Father's heart is open wide.
Where could I help and strength secure,
if grace were not my anchor sure?
By grace! On this I'll rest when dying;
in Jesus' promise I rejoice;
for though I know my heart's condition,
I also know my Savior's voice.
My heart is glad, all grief has flown,
since I am saved by grace alone.
By grace! This ground of faith is certain;
so long as God is true, it stands.
What saints have penned by inspiration,
what in his Word our God commands,
what our whole faith must rest upon,
is grace alone, grace in his Son.
It's my prayer that everyone deceived and held captive in the concentration
camp of sin and death will be set free by God before this day is over in Jesus
name.
Good day and God bless you.
Maranatha!
