"Never stop praying. Be ready for anything by praying and being thankful" - Colossians 4:2 (ERV)
The early Christian converts were very diligent about praying. Each one had
their own special place outside the village where they went to pray in
solitude. They reached these “prayer rooms” by using their own private
footpaths through the brush. When grass began to grow over any of these
footpaths, it was evident that the person to whom it belonged was no longer
praying. Therefore, anyone who noticed such overgrown “prayer path,” would go
to the prayerless believer and lovingly warn, “Brother/Sister, there is grass
on your path!”
"Jesus returned to his three disciples. Now they were sleeping. He said to
Peter, ‘Simon, you are asleep! You could not stay awake for even one hour! You
must keep awake and you must pray. ....."-Mark 14:37-38
(EASY)
In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus Christ discovered that Peter, James and John
were no longer active in the place of prayer. Like many contemporary believers,
the footpaths of these three disciples had overgrown with weeds of
prayerlessness (Mark 14:37-38). They have become over confident, lazy and
careless in climbing the mountain of prayer. The giant of prayerlessness had
swallowed their personal devotions and love for God. Like the foolish
Galatians, they wanted to use human strength to complete the task of grace that
the Holy Ghost started in the place of prayer (Galatians 3:3). What an
absurdity!
Beloved, please be sincere with yourself today. Are your footpaths already
overgrown with grass? Has the giant of prayerlessness swallowed you up? Has the
mountain of laziness and pride crippled your fellowship with God? Then, why are
you no longer excited about the sweet hour of prayer as you used to do when you
first got saved? Don't you think you need urgent help before it is too late?
Friends, God can help you rekindle the fire on our prayer altar today. That
giant of prayerlessness engaging your destiny will be defeated by His grace
today. However, please note that God cannot help backsliders and sinners until
they repent. In fact, God does not listen to sinners (John 9:31). Therefore, I
urge you to please repent and meditate on the lyrics of this wonderful hymn
below:
I WANT THAT MOUNTAIN By Bill Harvey, 1989
I saw the Giant of Prayerlessness upon the mountain high;
He laughed so hard at my unbended knee.
No longer in the Wilderness I'll stay, and so I cry:
I want that mountain, it belongs to me!
Chorus:
I want that mountain! I want that mountain!
Where the milk and honey flow, where the grapes of Eshcol grow,
I want that mountain! I want that mountain!
The mountain that my Lord has given me.
There was a Giant of Laziness who said I wouldn't go
And witness for the One who set me free.
I'll come from out the Wilderness, I'll witness now I know;
I want that mountain, it belongs to me!
One faithless Giant upon the crest of Hebron's lofty height
Has vowed that he's the one to make me flee.
I'll climb from out the Wilderness! and trust Jehovah's might!
I want that mountain, it belongs to me!
Let ev'ry Giant of Distress and Unbelief and Sin
Get ready now to vacate, for you see:
I've come from out the Wilderness! I know I'm going to win!
I want that mountain, it belongs to me!
As the Lord lives, God will kindle a fresh fire of revival in His church all
over the world. Every believer whose prayer-life has been plagued with
spiritual diarrhoea and tuberculosis shall be healed before this day is over in
Jesus name. Every giant of prayerlessness and mountain of laziness blocking
your ways to fruitfulness in life shall be uprooted completely in Jesus name,
Amen.
Good day and God bless you.
Maranatha!
